A Walk Down Port Charles Memory Lane
Soap opera fans grab your favorite morning coffee and take a walk down memory lane with us because May 22nd has historically been an absolute roller coaster day in Port Charles. Today we are throwing it all the way back to May 22 2003 which was the exact day one of daytime television’s most chaotic and dramatic couples tried to make things official. Yes we are talking about the infamous surprise elopement of Elizabeth Webber and Ric Lansing on General Hospital.

Faith Rosco Crashes The Ceremony
If you were tuned into ABC daytime back in the early 2000s you already know that absolutely nothing ever went smoothly for Ric and Liz. Their wedding day truly took the cake for sheer unadulterated soap opera drama. Right before the star crossed lovers could finish exchanging their vows and make their marriage legal one of the most ruthless and unhinged villains of that entire era burst through the doors.
Faith Rosco made her grand entrance as the ultimate wedding crasher. Faith was furious deeply vengeful and completely unwilling to let Ric walk away into a happy sunset with Elizabeth. In true legendary daytime fashion Faith did not just scream and cause a scene. Instead she marched right up grabbed Elizabeth’s beautiful wedding bouquet and completely destroyed it in a fit of pure malicious rage.
The Bouquet Is Saved
Poor Elizabeth was left standing at the altar in utter shock with ruined flowers but she refused to let a villain win. Thanks to a quick thinking and incredibly kind gesture from the Justice of the Peace’s wife who offered up a last minute replacement bouquet the ceremony was saved. The couple brushed off the dramatic interruption pushed forward with the vows and Ric and Elizabeth finally said their I dos.
