The latest General Hospital news confirms a massive wave of veteran returns, exciting new characters, and permanent family recasts headed to the ABC daytime drama this summer.
As storylines heat up, several beloved favorites are finally stepping back onto the canvas alongside some fresh faces ready to shake up the town.
Steve Burton and Finola Hughes Finally Return Onscreen
Longtime fan-favorite Steve Burton is officially heading back to the canvas as his iconic alter ego, Jason Morgan. Burton took a brief hiatus from the show to spend time with his real-life wife, Michelle Lundstrom, but spoilers confirm Jason will return as a changed man. Viewers can look forward to his highly anticipated first airdate on July 13.
Joining him in the summer return lineup is Finola Hughes as Anna Devane. Anna has been locked away in a mental facility in France, but she is finally making her way back to Port Charles. She holds the keys to some truly explosive truths, but after her recent institutionalization, the real question is whether anyone will actually believe her.
Marshall and Quinn Head Back to Town
Two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner Robert Gossett is also reprising his role as Marshall Ashford. Marshall’s return arrives at a highly critical moment for his son, Curtis, who is currently facing intense legal troubles at the hands of Dr. Isaiah Gannon while preparing to welcome another child.
Additionally, Jequan Jackson will return as Quinn sometime in July. Quinn is coming back to Port Charles with a mission to make things right with Kai, but his success will depend entirely on whether he can also make amends with Trina Robinson.
Thrilling New Faces and Mysterious Executives Hit the Canvas
The summer roster also features some exciting new additions. South African Australian actor, singer-songwriter, and martial artist Dean Geyer has joined the cast as Tristan Roberts. Making his first appearance in July, Tristan will immediately find himself getting off on the wrong foot with Britt Westbourne.
Furthermore, daytime newcomer Troy Lennon Appel is set to debut on July 30 as Hudson. Hudson is described as a sharp business executive with mysterious, hidden ties that are sure to make a major impact on the town’s corporate landscape.
Kelly Kruger and Kayden Brenna Tokarski Step Into Major Recasts
On the recast front, soap veteran Kelly Kruger– famous for her past roles on The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless—is officially taking over the role of Serena Baldwin. The legacy character was last brought to life by Carly Schroeder.
Finally, as previously reported, Kayden Brenna Tokarski is the new permanent Scout Cain. While Reagan Park briefly filled in for one episode because Cosette Abinante was unavailable, Tokarski takes over the role for good this July. The show is slightly aging the character up into a teenager, and viewers can look forward to seeing Scout and Rocco Falconeri spending plenty of time in each other’s orbits.
